Description

This vibrant and powerful illustration by Diana Ejaita was the cover image for the At Home section of The New York Times on June 7, 2020. Published at the height of worldwide protests in response to the police killing of George Floyd, that week’s issue focused on topics like how to build a stronger community together and how to talk to children about race and racism.

Diana Ejaita is an Italian-Nigerian artist, illustrator and textile designer based in Berlin. She has contributed to The New York Times as an illustrator and created covers for the New Yorker. In 2022 she published her first children’s book, “Olu and Greta.”
