Eagle Lapel Pin - Patriotic American Flag Eagle Brooch for Men & Women - Perfect for Suits, Jackets, Hats & Gifts

The eagle is a symbol of America, and for decades it was a symbol of The New York Times. The majestic bird served as a Times logo and emblem, appearing on our editorial page and adorning the newspaper’s trucks and executive dining rooms. That was the inspiration behind this 1" silver pin as part of our Early Edition collection.

The eagle — sending a message of power and authority with its wings spread, head turned, at the ready — appeared on the upper left-hand corner of the editorial page from 1958 to 1972. The eagle then largely disappeared from public view — until it was recently discovered at our midtown headquarters by Times designers.

This silver plated pin measures 1" and is made of black nickel plating and placed on a 3" x 2" backer card. Our Early Edition pin collection was made by Three Potato Four, a husband and wife led product and graphic design studio located outside of Philadelphia.
