Breaking news: A new Times truck is rumbling into Toy Town. Just the right size for young readers and grown-up collectors, the cute 3.5” van was inspired by our blue-and-white delivery vehicles that plied the tri-state roads more than 35 years ago. Made of solid wood, it's handcrafted by New York-based Candylab Toys, known for its modern-day vintage heirloom wood toys.

The Times delivery van is the little brother of our 8.5”-long truck from Candylab. The van is a mighty mite with fast-rolling action, so young readers can race it along floors, tables and walls as they make fresh-off-the-press deliveries. Less adventurous readers might opt to keep it off the imaginary highways and display it as a collectible and conversation piece.

The van has retro styling, inspired by Times vehicles from the 1970s and 1980s. For decades, dark green Times trucks delivered freshly printed newspapers to destinations throughout the metropolitan area. In 1974, the newspaper rolled out a more modern look. Sixty new trucks, painted blue and white, took to the road with the newspaper’s iconic logo divided on three lines to stand out.

This 3.5” mini-truck, handmade of premium beech wood, has The Times name on one side and our slogan, “All the News That’s Fit to Print,” on the other. It’s painted with non-toxic water-based inks containing no lead and it has been tested for child safety.

Durable and elegant, the toy van was created by The Times and Candylab, a manufacturer and design lab in New York that specializes in mid-century Americana. It comes in a custom-made box with Times branding.
