This book was recommended reading for my dog training class. Obviously, one doesn't sit down and read it cover to cover, but it is a wonderful reference book. If you are thinking of buying a pure bred pooch, you should check out this book for the complete low down on your desired dog. Also, if you are trying to understand your All American dog, or figure out his ancestry, this is a great book to help you out. There is a photo or sketch of every pure bred dog recognized by the American Kennel Club with a detailed description of it's disposition and tips to help guide you into a good and respectful relationship with your dog.I highly recommend this book to anyone involved with dogs and especially to those who wish to train dogs.
